Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
Personal information: when you place an order, create an account, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, postal address and phone number. You can browse our Site anonymously, and you're never required to give us personal information — though this may prevent you from doing things like placing an order.
Non-personal information: we also collect technical information whenever you use the Site, such as your browser type, device type, and general connection details (e.g. operating system, internet service provider).
2. Cookies
Our Site uses cookies to improve your experience — for example, to remember your cart and preferences. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when they're used, but some parts of the Site may not work properly if you do.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To process your order — fulfilling, shipping and supporting the transaction you've made with us.
- To provide customer service — responding to your enquiries and support requests.
- To improve our Site — using feedback and usage data to make the store work better.
- To send you emails — order confirmations and updates will always be sent. Marketing emails (news, offers, product updates) are only sent if you've opted in, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
4. Our Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we rely on: contract (to fulfil an order you've placed), consent (for marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time), and legitimate interest (for things like fraud prevention and improving our Site).
5. How We Protect Your Information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. Sensitive data (such as payment details) is exchanged over an encrypted SSL connection.
Our store runs on BigCommerce, a US-based e-commerce platform. BigCommerce (operating under Commerce.com) is a certified participant in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, including the UK and Swiss extensions — the current legal mechanism (replacing the earlier Privacy Shield scheme) for transferring personal data from the UK/EU to the US. You can verify their certification at dataprivacyframework.gov, or contact them directly at privacy@bigcommerce.com.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to anyone.
We share data only where necessary to run our business — for example, with our courier partners to deliver your order, our payment provider to process payment, and our platform provider (BigCommerce) to operate the Site. We may also share aggregated, anonymised data (not linked to you personally) with trusted partners for analytics purposes.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep order and account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time, subject to the exceptions in Section 8 below.
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR / EU GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data, in certain circumstances.
- Restrict or object to how we process your data.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. If you're not satisfied with our response, UK customers can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); EU customers can complain to their local data protection authority.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the revised date will always appear at the bottom of this page. Continuing to use our Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy — we encourage you to check back periodically.
